Lesson 8 The Mission of Jesus

Lesson 8 The Mission of Jesus

I'm always thankful in receiving email message from Pastor Sunny on the Chinese Sabbath school lessons in PowerPoint. As a student, I comprehend what it means to seek and save. I understand my mission and I act out the role that God has assigned me in the seeking-saving process.

What I know about the meaning of Seek and Save? Before answering this question. I must ask the most important question:
Who is lost?

I gave my daughter 90 cents a day for her meal at school. She is 9 years old. Therefore, I told her 9 years old = 90 cents. She didn't like to receive coins. She prefers $1 Ringgit bill. But, I insisted that she can only receive $1 next year and I think that she should Ask, then she will Receive money from me. At times, she didn't ask me for money. I asked her why? She said she was afraid that I would not have any money. I told her that God bless me and He provides.

This morning, as I was driving, I felt necessary to give her 90 cents. I handed the coins to her inside the car but somehow 20 cents rolled out from her hand. It's difficult to find the lost coin inside the car as it's dark. Even though I turned on the light inside my car, still it was too dark to see where was the coin. I know that it's time to have a good car wash before Sabbath.

The mission of Jesus is a result of God's love and grace. In God's timing, I've always met up with God's servants at some unexpected places like the MPPJ library at PJ and even the Pet Store at Bandar Puteri Puchong. I've also met them via online such as email, facebook and even Whatsapp from smartphone. God sent His servants to motivate me for my spiritual growth to keep me from getting Lost. The Spirit of God is my best Teacher to help me to work for Christ. As an educator, I'm working upon the human soul. Without God's Holy Spirit, I can't Teach. I can be in danger of getting myself Lost.

Lost. This one word describes the heartbreak of my life. The Good Shepherd leads me to the green pasture. He leads me to the still water where I can drink the Water of Life. One time, when I was travelling to China with my family, the tour guide from the bus invited anyone to sing for entertaining travelers in the bus. God's Spirit empowered me to sing the Amazing Grace in the bus at China while visiting the Great Wall. I was amazed at the power of God to grant me the courage to sing the hymn.

"I once was lost, but now am found, was blind, but now I see." I'm Aware of my Lost and Found. It's very crucial to be Aware or in Chinese is “醒悟”.My Father who is in Heaven, never force me to come to Him. In the same way, I also will not force Anyone to become Christian and this includes my family members, my husband, daughter and my friends. I accept God's love freely. Freely I receive, freely I give. I share my faith with my daughter and I hope to share to as many people as possible. Even if I run out of money, I know I've received Eternal Life, the most important thing that value the Most.

My bank account is not large. My house is not a mansion. My car is year 1996 old kancil, a present from my father. I have no servant in my house. But I believe that I'll receive my rewards in heaven. All worldly measure of success will vanish and my God will supply my needs through His love and grace. God teach me how to sow the Seeds of Tears and will give me in return, the Harvest of Joy.

I thank God for giving me a Vision and Mission to do my job on earth Now. Yes, indeed Now is the day of salvation, and after that, death. There's no second chance. I decide, therefore, Now.

My Vision is to Live Life to the Fullest. My Mission is to Teach others to Decide for God.

I can discover many things to do by beholding the heaven's greatest wonder: Jesus. By abiding in Him, I can offer to share with others the bread of life and to help the spiritually blind to see. Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine. He lives in my home, my life and in my heart. He heals my wounded heart and provides me peace to my soul. He alone assures me of eternal life. I've answered the most important question: Who is lost?

The answer to What I know about the meaning of Seek and Save?
I see it as a faith journey progression from blindness to discipleship. Step by step in Seeking and Saving the Lost. Ninety-nine versus one. Not in quantity. I learn to focus in One: Relationship.

I follow Jesus as my example. I eat and fellowship with sinners. I just received a call, a friend who wants to meet me at 10pm on Sabbath Friday night. Even though, Sabbath is my day of Rest. I'll go and I'll ask:
"What do you want Me to do for you?" (Luke 18:41)

I can do all things through Christ who strengthen me. All things are possible in and through Him. I apply what I learn from the promises of God.

Finally, am I a SDA (Sit-Down-Always)or SDASeventh-Day Adventist)? Not important, most important is to have Christ in me, so that others can see Him through me.

Happy Sabbath

“Being Ready for Whatever”

Happy Sabbath to all my dear brothers and sisters in Christ in all over the world. Whether you are at church, home, nature or any place, our hearts are bind together as we come to our Lord in Prayer.

I miss my church families A Lot. I'm not sure they have time to think of me. I can imagine at this hour they're busy at getting ready for Praising God. Singing together in unison at church is so wonderful. I can just imagine the Praises that ascend to heaven, to God who is at His throne and He loves our praises. Even Now, dear Lord, as we pray, God take our hearts and minds far away and He draws us closer to Him. Oh yes, I can remember from my experiences of attending church early in the morning. I know who would be the early birds at church and who were those who were late comers.

In year 2013, I had my last worship on 13th Sabbath in the second quarter June. I knew it well from that 13th sabbath school, it was my last chance of attending church. I didn't know that it would happen again. Back in year 2008, I was attending DUMC worship at 5pm on Saturday and my daughter would attend the children's church at 2:30pm. She disliked the worship celebration at the adult worship hall. She was crying to get back to her church. Because of her request, I went back to the Adventist church. I didn't know that it would happen again that I would stop attending church in year 2013.

From the vision and mission that I received, I decided to stay committed to Christ and seek ways to witness and teach my daughter to worship God. As I searched for materials to worship at Adventist Mission, I saw the Simple Church logo, reaching the mission field that lives where you live. I started Simple Church and informed at https://www.facebook.com/groups/SimpleChurchAtHome/permalink/10151792410057477/

My younger sister Sophia was baptized last year in 2014. She requested me to give her a gift, "footprint" which I gave her some years ago. But she said she lost it and she hopes to have it again. It would take time to find a footprint pewter. I decided to give her my footprint key chain today since today in the evening, our family is going to meet up in a restaurant of my choice at Bandar Puteri Puchong for our father's birthday. I hope my other family members will receive Christ. What I need to do is to stay on the Promises of God.

Thank you for all the prayers. My life journey is tough but full of blessings. I determine like the author of Being Ready for Whatever to accept Whatever situations that I am in and pray that God helps me to Be Ready. Now, I must get myself prepare to meet the King of the universe. I always kneel down in front of my balcony and when I finished my worship, I look at the Sky to receive an assurance that God is with me, His Grace is sufficient for me. Amen.

Lesson 2 From Ear to Feet

Tuesday Lesson: Protect Your Friendship

Read Proverbs 6:1–5. What problem does Solomon refer to, and what is the solution? What crucial spiritual principle do we find here as well?

Solomon refereed to a dangerous promise to become surety, (guaranty or collateral) for friends.

The solution is to deliver yourself by pleading with your friend and humble yourself. You must deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter and like a bird from the hand of the fowler.

Crucial spiritual principle to make sure that I must be cautious in considering financial backing for a friend who is in debt. Be careful of my words, of not making promise that I can't keep.

How do we learn to balance our desire to bear one another’s burdens (Gal. 6:2) with the words given to us in this proverb?

We have to first put on our seat belt before we can advice our passengers in the same vehicle with us to put on seat belt. In another word, we all have to practice Safety by doing what is required by the law. God's law is written in our heart and He put His Spirit in us to obey Him, so we can indeed learn to balance our desire to bear one another's burdens. It's not easy, but with Christ, All Things Are Possible.

Lesson 1 The Call of Wisdom

Lesson 1 The Call of Wisdom
Friday Jan 2 Further Study
Third day of 2015 (03-01-2015). Search my treasure in God's Word early morning at 4:30am. Digging for hidden treasure requiring hard work. One of the criteria is to wake up early in the morning. Earnest study and close investigation to know where is my treasure for today so that I deposit the treasure I found in my heart.

"No earthy blessing can be obtained without earnest, patient, persevering effort" (
Ellen G. White, Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 111–114).  A higher pursuit than the things of this world. "We need the enlightenment of the Holy Spirit in order to discern the truths in God's word" (Ellen G. White, Christ’s Object Lessons, pp. 111–114).

"What a grief it is to see children of God-fearing parents unruly and disobedient, unthankful and self-willed, full of determination to have their own way, regardless of the inconvenience or sorrow it causes their parents. Satan takes delight in ruling the hearts of children, and if he is permitted he will inspire them with his own hateful spirit" (Ellen G. White, Messages to Young People, pp. 333-334).

I can see my daughter is growing up. She hates me reminding her for drinking water, praying to God when she wakes up in the morning, making her bed, doing revision for her study, memorizing her memory verse and reading bible. She'll say: "I hate ....". Indeed this "hate" word from her mouth grief me. My daughter has a father who believes differently from her mother. But one thing for sure, no matter how much both me and my husband have a different view for our belief, both of us want our daughter to have Obedience to us, the Parents.

My daughter's life is recorded in the book of Heaven. Only after 6 years of marriage, I conceived a child. I was 36 I received this miracle. It was late night when I had a phone conversation with my classmate for our Montessori class assignment. I felt unwell and my friend jokingly said that it could be that I had conceived. She urged me to go to clinic. Somehow, it was late. Most clinics were close. But one clinic still opened. I went in and Dr. Frances found out that I indeed conceived. He told me that it's his most happy moment that day. Since he found out that I had a big cyst in my womb, he wanted me to be admitted to hospital immediately. It's unforgettable night. I was feeling extremely cold in the hospital and the next day, I was checked by Dr. Paul Tay. He performed cesarean at University Malaya Specialist Centre on August 24, 2006. Later in 2009, I discovered that I had cervical cancer, I asked Dr. Paul Tay to do a hysterectomy at Assunta hospital.

Restoration and Forgiveness on Dec 18 2014

Restoration and Forgiveness

Read James 5:19-20. How does the work described here compare with the work done by Elijah, John the Baptist, and others? See Luke 1:16-17Acts 3:19.

My husband has wondered away from the truth for almost 9 years. I don't know whether I am able or even capable of turning him back since he has asked me not to attempt nor even pray for him to come back to the Lord. Therefore, I pray that someone turns him back and let him knows his error. As a wife, I hope to turn him away from his error but I know my husband. He will not listen to my advice. He will choose to listen to his "friend's" advice. I pray that his "friend" will help him. Just like many years ago, a stranger who becomes my friend was able to turn me from my error and save my soul from death.

As I study my quarterly lesson, I ponder upon the goodness of late Andrew Chan Cheak Wan. He truly covered a multitude of sins for me. His witnessing compared with the work done by Elijah, John the Baptist and others was that he turned me to become a child of God. Late Andrew was anointed with God's Spirit. I was a disobedient child but I looked up to his wisdom when he invited me to his home, explained to me the scriptures from Daniel and Revelation. He made me ready for a serious one year bible study prior to baptism at United States in Kentucky, Morehead. Late Andrew had indeed prepared me to accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior.

I repent and therefore be converted so that my sins may be blotted out. My conversion requires me to do the work of saving souls, especially dealing with my husband who departed from truth with much patience, sympathy, tenderness, and humility. I learn to love my husband with gentleness. Restoration and forgiveness in my marriage is about learning to love like Jesus. If I have hatred in my heart, it only stirs up strife in my family. I'm reminded to love, so that love covers all sins.

12 Hatred stirs up strife,
But love covers all sins.

Think of someone who has really done wrong and knows it too. What can you do, what can you say, to help draw this person back toward the Lord?

What I can do is to have sympathy and empathy for the person. What I say is not important. In order to draw a person back toward the Lord, it is the work of the Holy Spirit. I need to have the Holy Spirit resides in me in order not to have a double-minded behavior. My actions always speak louder than words.

Models of Prayer

Models of Prayer on Wednesday December 17, 2014.

What do we learn about prayer from Elijah's example?

James 5:17-18

"17 Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain; and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. 18 And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its fruit".

Elijah was a human being just like all of us. He prayed earnestly. He prayed with a purpose in mind. God answered his prayer with no rain for three years and six months. Then, he prayed again, the heaven gave rain and the earth produced vegetation and its fruit. Otherwise, no rain, no crops and it would have no food for the people.

How is it connected with healing, forgiveness, and restoration?

Healing in the sense that God seeks to heal and to forgive sinners and He restores the earth and us, the sinners to become a New Person in Christ.

As a church, we are seeking revival and reformation. But it must begin in our own lives, our own selves, on a personal and daily basis. What choices can only you, yourself, make that will determine the direction and, ultimately, the destiny of your life?

My choices for determining the direction and, ultimately, the destiny of my life is to:

1. First Thing First, spend quality time with God. I like my early morning quiet time which helps me to receive the direction of my day and my life.

2. Prayer has power to move mountain. I didn't know how to pray but God's Spirit within me will help me to make petition to my God. I just put my trust in Him, knowing that I can ask anything in His name, surely He hears my prayers.

3. When I lost my direction, thinking of ending my life, I'm thankful to God for sending me an animal, my cat Cutie, to remind me of His promises in His Words and in the Book of Nature, in order to get back my courage to face life difficulties. God has the power to shape my destiny according to His good purposes. I believe in God's destiny for my life. I look for evidences of God's love.

Matthew 6: 25-34 (NET Bible)
6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry33 about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than food and more to the body than clothing? 6:26 Look at the birds in the sky:34 They do not sow, or reap, or gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds35 them. Aren’t you more valuable36 than they are? 6:27 And which of you by worrying can add even one hour to his life?37 6:28 Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers38 of the field grow; they do not work39 or spin. 6:29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his glory was clothed like one of these! 6:30 And if this is how God clothes the wild grass,40 which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven,41 won’t he clothe you even more,42you people of little faith? 6:31 So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’ 6:32 For the unconverted43 pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 6:33 But above all pursue his kingdom44 and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 6:34 So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.45

4. Keep God's commandments for an eternal life. Time is running out. I concern for keeping myself focus in seeking to grasp the idea of bringing God a living sacrifice of Praise. I constantly remind myself to Rejoice and Praise Him for Christ as my Redeemer. He is ready to help me to obey to sacrifice all for the sake of my Redeemer.

5. Always give honor and glory to God. I made bad choices but I should not forget the lessons I learned from making bad choices. As Christ's follower, God cares for me just like the flowers of the field. Truly, I can't change myself, but I can make my choice and it rests with me to determine what I will become.

6. I make my choice to yield to Holy Spirit, the best teacher who helps me to awake me for a desire for the imperishable treasure, so that I understand my direction in earthly life is to store up treasure in heaven.

7. I only want to give God His voice in speaking to me. People can speak their word and I can talk to people but it's God's voice alone that is most powerful. His voice is the only voice that I would listen to.

8. Be a true learner, a lifelong learner in God's knowledge. The truth is not depend upon on the intellect to tell me about how to determine the direction and destiny for my life. God fill me up as well as other Spiritual Giants who have the mind with Great thoughts, pure thoughts who can inspire me to give my desire for Christ. Hold on to a perception of truth that is higher and holier. Transform upon His love and mercy and to continue my study in pursuing the wonderful work of saving souls by communion with God.

9. A pureness of purpose with a simplicity of an earnest, dependent faith so that my Christian life is fruit bearing - a reproduction of Christ's character in me, that it may be reproduced in others.

10. Humility of heart in the face of God. Always seek divine guidance and the angels of God will be near me to give me immediate help. Be like a little child, having an experience like a little child helps me to meet God's expectation.
